RELEASE INFO:
Tech Itch Recordings are proud to present their latest 12" release from new
artist Pure Instinct, who deliver two tracks that define the label's sound.
A razor sharp intro leads 'Glitch' into a melee of deep bass and cavernous
breaks, punctuated by a melting pot of "nightmare" FX. Watch out for the
infectious 'snare roll' hook when this one drops, and hold on tight as the
tune rolls and the bassline gets dark.
'Germcode' on the flip kicks off with fierce, solid beats and dark, brooding
atmospherics. When the amens hit, it's time to run for cover as the full fury
is unleashed.
REVIEWS:
Release number fifteen from the Tech Itch label sees the debut release from
new act, Pure Instinct. Both tracks are deep and weird. "Glitch" is
experimental with some wickedly original breaks, bass and twisted sounds which
go down well on any floor. "Germ Code" is deep with sounds that are hard to
describe. A huge kick and snare break combined with hard hitting amen edits
lead you into a full on lift off section later in the tune. Watch out for more
releases from the Pure Instinct trio, they will be in the studio again soon.

If you still can't get enough of tech-step and nightmare elements, then go for
this one. Bodypopping Robocop, great drum pattern, searing paint-stripper in
your eyes sounds, cannot fault its flow. Actually, it's quite excellent and a
certain crowd pleaser. Dark but light - the lads deserve a cuppa and two (yes,
two) choccy-digestives for bringing us this one.
DJ 199 - 27th Sept. to 10th Oct. '97
New artists Pure Instinct (whose identity is remaining secret) bring the label
bang up to the 21st century with the nightmarish 'Glitch'. Hollowed out snares
collide head on with explosive effect as the usual animal bass paces. Tech
Itch's love of detail is evident as always with quirky, one-off sample drops
that give 'Glitch', as with all of the T.I. catalogue, its unique feel. Plenty
copy or follow but the Bristol crew stay one stride ahead, continuing to
increase their lead. (9/10)
Ruff Cutz - Sept. '97
Tech Itch open their doors to Pure Instinct. Sounds like they'll fit in well
with the pounding aggressive breakwork, distorted sub tones and twisted
chiming of 'Glitch', maintaining the label's industrial edge. Turn to
'Germcode' for a fierce collage of disturbing sound FX and forcefully stepping
beats, spiced with the odd massive crashing surge. 7

New artist Pure Instinct delivers two tracks that define this particular
label's sound. A razor sharp intro leads 'Glitch' into a melee of deep bass
and cavernous breaks, punctuated by a melting pot of nightmare FX. Watch for
the infectious snare roll hook when this one drops. On the flip, when the
"Amens" hit, it's time to hide as the full fury is unleashed.
