SUBSTANCE LOGO

Markee Substance could be considered a veteran of the UK Drum and Bass scene. From the days of runnin' with his crew on the free party circuit, to setting up the Ruffneck Ting club night, and thereafter the label of the same name, Mark has firmly established himself as a playa within the jungle fraternity.

His production career began in 1993, at the same time the Ruffneck Ting club was launched, but certain setbacks forced Mark to temporarily put things on hold. Not for long though, for someone with this much passion for the music isn't just gonna lie down!

On his feet again and back in the studio, Mark made his intentions clear with the unveiling of the Substance sound. Just listen to the back catalogue, from 'Rude Girls' to 'Goahead' through to 'Homeboyz', 'Damn Right' and the recent anthems 'LFAnt' and 'Think', his technological knowledge and sense of the dancefloor are second to none.

Mark's forthcoming releases on Breakbeat Culture and Ruffneck Ting further showcase the forward thinking approach he takes to his craft. The music has moved on to a harder-edge sound, blending sonic basslines, futuristic FX and razor sharp beats, whilst retaining the funk and without compromising on dance floor accessibility

Also with Ruffneck Ting and Mark himself being recently featured live on Radio One's One In The Jungle show - the future certainly looks promising - definitely the crew to watch.

This is the future sound - get with the program.
