KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge is the UK's specialist magazine for drum & bass, jungle, hip hop, breaks and urban culture. It was founded in December 1994 by Colin Steven and Rachel Patey. The pair had been promoting a jungle club called Ruffneck Ting in Bristol for a year and knew there was a need for a magazine covering drum & bass as other magazines dismissed it or just gave it token coverage. They have always strived to make each issue bigger and better than the last and so Knowledge has changed dramatically over the years. The biggest change so far came in September 1998 with the addition of a cover price, lots more pages and the highly popular free CD every issue. So far DJs like Simon Bassline Smith, DJ Craze, Bailey, DJ Marky and Decoder and have mixed their cover CD which always features at least an hour of fresh rollin' tracks. Each issue is always packed with features and interviews with established and up-and-coming producers and DJs. They also have the largest, most definitive singles and albums review sections, the most up-to-date news, studio & DJ equipment technology and tips, club reviews, fashion, street art, street sports, competitions plus a comprehensive listings section.
