Darren Beale first made waves as a producer back in the early days of rave with his Orca project, then signed to 'Lucky Spin'. He achieved a fair amount of success with Orca, including the rave anthem '4AM', which gave him a taste for greater things to come. The following years saw Darren change with the times, producing deeper tracks under aliases such as Acro, Koda, Code Blue and Wild Orkid - primarily for 'Lucky Spin' and 'Deejay Recordings', although without really breaking through and getting proper recognition.

It was around this time that Mark and Darren first met and began helping each other out on a few tunes. The result of this meeting speaks for itself with both members contributing to the meteoric rise of both the Decoder and Technical Itch names - ultimately leading to the position that they are in today - leaders of their field.

Darren, through the more recent Decoder tracks to appear on 'Tech Itch Recordings', has given clear indications as to the direction in which he intends to take his music. The tracks are tailor-made for the dance floor - industrial soundscapes combining phat, serrated breaks and sonic basslines - and have been tried and tested by the DJ elite. The forthcoming Decoded EP on 'Tech Itch Recordings' sets the agenda with six brand new tracks that provide an insight into what the future holds for the artist known as Decoder.

Here's an interview with Decoder from Knowledge magazine.
